Chelsea Owner Todd Boehly Plan To Build Two Giant Lion Statues Outside Stadium 

Only a few weeks after ending fan travel subsidies, Chelsea is preparing to erect two eight-foot lion statues outside Stamford Bridge.

According to the Daily Mail, Todd Boehly, who promised to improve the amenities and aesthetics of Stamford Bridge, has asked Hammersmith and Fulham Council for permission to install one of the enormous sculptures.

The cost of the statues is unknown, but the news comes just a few weeks after Chelsea eliminated a £10 subsidy for away-game fan travel. The decision was criticised by the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust, especially in light of the fact that the Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership has already spent around £1 billion ($1.2bn) on transfers since purchasing the team in May 2022.

The application is open for comment for the following month, and if construction is permitted, the first sculpture might be installed by November. It is unknown what more Boehly and Clearlake have in store for Stamford Bridge.
