Chelsea Break Bizzare 35 Year Old Defensive And Scoring Record

Chelsea defeated Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in a dramatic comeback game, shattering their own nearly 35-year-old top-flight record.

It was one of those wild evenings in West London where the game had multiple turns throughout the ninety minutes. After the Blues jumped out to a 2-0 lead, the home crowd was ecstatic. However, Alejandro Garnacho’s goal put United ahead 3-2 in the middle of the second half, shattering their happiness. But as Pochettino’s team pickedpocketed United of the three points, Cole Palmer’s spectacular exploits late into stoppage time enthralled the capital crowd once again.

Although Chelsea showed extraordinary resilience and perseverance to seal a comeback win their leaky defence was once again exposed. Interestingly, it was Chelsea themselves who held the record to date.

The triumph also assisted Chelsea in getting back on track against United following a 12-game Premier League losing streak that began in 2017. In contrast, the Red Devils lost in the capital for the fourth time this season—the most since the 1989–1990 campaign.

On Sunday, Chelsea will return to action against Sheffield United, while United will play an earlier kickoff same day against Liverpool.
