Chelsea Boss Lauds Mudryk Debut Against Liverpool

Mykhailo Mudryk’s brilliant performance in the goalless draw against Liverpool and Chelsea earned him accolades from Graham Potter, who just signed him for £89 million ($102 million).

The highlight game on Saturday was a blah affair between two underwhelming teams that may well deserve to be in the middle of the table. The most exciting moment of the game, at least for Chelsea supporters, came with Mudryk’s introduction at the 55-minute mark. The Blues manager acknowledged being impressed with the team’s most recent acquisition.

“[Mudryk] hasn’t played football for a while, he’s been on a mid-season break so we’ve had to manage his minutes and he’s still in that phase,” Potter told BT Sport after the match. “But I think you can see his quality. I thought he had a good impact on the game.”

Despite playing for only 35 minutes, the 22-year-old actually completed more dribbles than any other player the entire game.

Mudryk’s energetic performance served as a dramatic contrast to Chelsea’s recent performances, which have been plagued by a lack of creative energy that is largely the result of their recent poor form.
