In Canada news updates, Canada Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau has never hidden his government’s commitment to carbon emissions reductions for its obvious benefits.
The commitment “to clean air and a strong economy” as it were, resonates with key administration’s officials, with a 2030 set as realization date.
“We must take action now to protect our planet and secure our children’s future”, an official entry on the Canadian government website enthuses.
There is therefore a hot pursuit to build a cleaner future, especially against the background of rising temperature, above tolerable levels, in fact twice above the global average.
On the way to realising the country’s ambitious but exigent action plans are $9.1bn in new investments, excluding $15million Green Buildings project, amongst others.

Trudeau is not pretending about the challenge in mobilising the needed resources to achieving the carbon emission reductions targets.

As such, he is urging other actors with the will power and resources to key in, Alberta, one of the richest regions of Canada.
“We have seen for a while Alberta hesitating around investing in anything related to climate change”, Trudeau was quoted as telling Reuters in a recent interview, adding, “I think there is a role for provinces with surpluses to be investing in their future”.
The Eagle reports that with its enormous oil and gas resources, and a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) total of CA$326.5bn, Alberta is in a position to help, but then, there are impediments.

One of such is that a new regional premier, Danielle Smith just took office, last October to be precise, and is expected to tread with caution, making promises much less committing resources to ambitious projects.
Besides, Alberta’s sovereignty gives it the leverage to be able to stand its grounds on key issues, so long it differs with the positon of the central government.
None of these however, can contest with Trudeau’s sentiments of “clean air and strong economy”, going forward.

The climate change and its adverse effects are now here with us.The entire Globe is facing serious dangerous trends in unusual negative temperatures triggering flooding,landslides,huge wild fires,earthquakes,volcanic eruptions,etc.Let me seize this opportunity to plead with Governments all of over the world to bring up relevant policies and financial commitments to mitigate future disasters on our common heritage.Canadian Government should take the lead to show the rest of the world the way out of the disasters waiting on the wings to happen.May God help us all.
