Buhari in historic closed-door meeting with Trump

Critics’ opinion notwithstanding, President Muhhamadu Buhari may have achieved another milestone in his dispensation as civilian president.

This is because reports reaching The Eagle indicates that the Nigerian leader has been able to secure a much-needed audience with the leader of the world’s most powerful nation.

President Donald Trump is respected globally not only because he is the American President, but also because of his no-nonsense stance in approaching issues.

President Buhari is currently meeting behind closed doors with at the White House, and this is epochal, especially given the trend of gloabl affairs currently.

Buhari faces a range of challenging issues at home, much of which has greatly impinged on the credibility with which he climbed to power, and this includes the handling of Fulani herdsmen activities and his anti-corruption fights which opponents criticise as lopsided.

These and more are expected to feature at the meeting, which we learnt started after preliminary remarks before journalists.
