Some governments are living true to the promise of helping to mitigate the impact of the lockdown imposed on Nigerians by COVID-19.
A proof of this is coming from the Daura Local Government Council in Katsina state which said it had received two truck-s of 50kg bags of rice donated by the Governor, Aminu Masari.
They say the two trucks contain 1,200 bags of the commodity.
The confirmation is coming from the chairman of the council, Alh. Hussaini Rafin-Dadi.
Speaking to NAN in an interview, he said it was a way of identifying with vulnerable people at this trying time.
He said it was aimed at giving them support amid the lockdown imposed on the local government to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The chairman said that the less privileged, people living with disabilities as well as persons who depended on daily income would be given prime attention.
In his remarks, Nasir yahaya, the member representing Daura Constituency in the state’s House of Assembly, expressed appreciation to the governor for providing for the people at such a challenging period.
