Nigeria is truly under a security siege with latest information that security operatives have foiled latest latest plot to bomb Ondo State Government House.

The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, said the alleged plot was hatched by a group of youths but that it was uncovered through intelligence gathering.

The governor made the startling revelation today while on set of Politics Today, a current affairs programme on Channels Television, adding that combined efforts of the police and Amotekun Corps, averted the attack.

He said the security teams, following intelligence reports received about three to four months ago raided the location and arrested the suspects.

The plot to bomb Ondo Government House is coming amidst increasing security concerns all around the country, with Nigerians still awaiting release and return of victims of the last Oyo State students’ abduction.

Providing details on the alleged attempted bomb attack on Ondo Government House, Aiyedatiwa added investigations were still ongoing to establish more facts.

He said items suspected to be linked to the alleged bombing plot had been recovered and were being studied.

Linking success in averting the attack to ongoing efforts of the current administration to secure life and property in the state, he underscored its criticality to any administration.

“Security is one responsibility that leaders carry that is not so visible to everybody.

“It is only when there is a lapse that it will look as if the government has not been doing enough. We have been doing so much”.

The Eagle reports increasing anxiety over the continued holding of Oyo state students and their teachers abducted by gunmen.

Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, while reacting to the incident, has just threatened to release the names of politicians behind the abduction.

Ogbowo who made the threat while speaking to the new executive members of the National Association of Nigerian Students also alleged that he had before now, personally volunteered to dislodge the bandits but was met with defiance by the state government.

He also claimed that he had never demanded any money from the Seyi Makinde-led administration to rescue the 47 abductees.
