Breaking –Police Arrest Nollywood Star, Funke Akindele

Popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has eventually been arrested by police for breaching social distancing rule concering coronavirus

The Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested Nollywood star,  Funke Akindele for defying government’s order on social distancing to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.

This was confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media, Gawat Jubril on Sunday evening.

Gawat who broke the news tweeted: “the Lagos State Police Command has arrested Nollywood Actress, @funkeakindele for violating the Social Distancing directive of the State yesterday … efforts ongoing to apprehend @JJCSKILLZ and others or risk being declared wanted”.

These are sequel to Saturday when the actress hosted a birthday party in honour of her husband, Kehinde Oloyede in her apartment.

Clearly against the rule on social distancing, this led to a bashing on the actress by social media users.

Funke not only try to explain that some of the people seen at the party were her staff members holed in by the restriction on movement, followed up by apologizing.

The videos of the celebration have made the rounds on social media attracting more attention and in fact, reprehension for the actress and her accomplices, putting the authorities on red alert.

Amongst those who graced the party were singer Naira Marley, who sand at the event and actress Eniola Badmus.

It was not clear as at the time of this report, where the actress was taken.
