Breaking – How Minister Collapsed Delivering A Public Speech

A minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has reportedly collapsed while delivering a public speech during a function.
The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Ambassador Maryam Yalwaji Katagum has was performing official engagement in Bauchi State, when she collapsed.
The function, reports say, was an empowerment programme in Bauchi and the minister was up on her Public Speech but collapsed in the course of delivering a speech.
Officials promptly rallied and immediately conveyed to the Trauma center of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH).
According to eyewitnesses, all of a sudden, she held her head, just as she was about to deliver her address, and went down before other officials at the venue who acted promptly came to her aid.
When our Correspondent visited the Trauma Center of the ATBUTH, he was barred from gaining entrance.
However, another eyewitness who spoke to The Nation said that the Minister was rushed to the Very Important Persons (VIP) section of the hospital.
The source added that minister was currently receiving treatment.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of ATBUTH, Yusuf Aminu who confirmed theincident did not provide further details.
Last May,Ambassador Maryam Yalwaji Katagum had urged stakeholders and agencies with skills acquisition mandates to synergise in tackling twin challenges of unemployment and poverty in the country.

Speaking during an Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) graduation of 11,100 youths under its 2020 National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP), she identified poverty and employment as the greatest challenges facing the country.
Katagum added that these challenges were also triggering various anti-social behaviours.
