Breaking: FG Set To Pay Workers 5 Months Wage Arrears

It should be good news to Nigerian workers as the Federal Government is set to pay them wage award arrears
Director (Press and Public Relations) in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), Bawa Mokwa stated this in a statement issued in Abuja.
He said the payment is the outstanding five months’ N35,000 wage award arrears approved for Nigerian workers.
The Federal Government had earlier paid five months wage award to federal government employees in instalments, with the outstanding arrears to be paid in instalments of N35,000 per month for five months.
Though the President had approved a new national minimum of N70,000 per month in July last year, implementation for federal workers suffered some hitch on account of paucity of funds.

The good news is that the wage arrears would now be paid after the April 2025 salary, the OAGF stated
“The wage award arrears would not be paid with the April 2025 salary; it will come immediately after the salary is paid”, he said, restating the government’s resolve to fully implement all policies and agreements regarding staff remuneration and welfare.
This he said, is to enhance productivity and efficiency.
