Break-Down: Barca Owes Over €200m In Transfer Fees 

Barca reportedly owe more than €200 million (£173m/$212m) in transfer fees to clubs such as Leeds, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Despite facing widely reported financial troubles, the Liga titans have still spending lavishly on high-profile new additions. Lionel Messi left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 as a result of their inability to reach an agreement on a new deal with the iconic Argentine.

Barca has managed to secure other agreements, but according to ARA, they owe staggering sums in transfer-related debt. Over the next 12 months, the Blaugrana are expected to spend just under €90 (£78/$95) million, but they will still owe Leeds, City, Bayern, and Sevilla an additional €120 (£104/$127) million.

Barca are reportedly about to pay Ajax €16m (£14m/$17m) for Frenkie de Jong, while small amounts are still owed on deals for Neto Muraua, Jean-Clair Todibo, Emerson Royal, Junior Firpo, and Miralem Pjanic. In the case of Pjanic, the Catalan outfit have to send funds to four different clubs.

In the immediate term, Barca owes Leeds €24 (£21/$25) for Raphinha, €13 (£11/$14) for Ferran Torres, and €10 (£9/$11) to Bayern for Lewandowski, with longer-term payments of €38 (£33/$40), €26 (£22/$27), and €21 (£18/$22) due in those respective transactions. The Blaugrana will receive funding from Sporting and Atletico Madrid for Francisco Trincao and Antoine Griezmann, but they must find an additional €36 million (£31 million/$38 million) for Jules Kounde.
