Paris Saint-Germain are considering a summer transfer bid for Barcelona midfielder Gavi, according to a report.

The 19-year-old has long been admired by the French champions, who reportedly have him on their shortlist of targets for the summer transfer season, according to The Athletic. He would transfer to rejoin coach Luis Enrique, who at the age of 17 gave him his senior debut at Barca.

Barcelona’s highly valued academy graduate is now out due to an anterior cruciate ligament tear, but should a sufficient offer be made, they may be forced to sell given their severe financial circumstances. It is unclear if the 27-time Spain international would be open to a summer departure.

PSG is not just focusing on Gavi as a huge name. Now that Kylian Mbappe has reportedly told president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he will leave the club for free during the summer transfer window, they are looking to add more star power to the squad. In order to replace the France international up front, they are also anticipated to put out a bid for Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli.

Prior to Mbappe’s departure at the end of the season, the capital club will attempt to retain their Ligue 1 championship and win the Champions League once. Following that, they will try to strengthen other team players and swap out their lucky charm.
