Bellingham Reveals Favourite Classico Celebration

Jude Bellingham has selected Cristiano Ronaldo’s “iconic” El Clasico moment as his calm celebration ahead of Real Madrid’s match against Barcelona.

The 20-year-old scored Tuesday’s 2-1 Champions League victory over Braga to give Madrid his 11th goal in 12 games. The England international is currently preparing to play in his first-ever competitive Clasico at Camp Nou on Saturday. The midfielder was questioned about some of his best memories from this esteemed rivalry prior to this heavyweight match. Bellingham quickly selected former Real Madrid player Ronaldo’s “calma calma” celebration following the team’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona in April 2012. Following his goal, Ronaldo gestured for the home crowd to settle down and then pointed to his chest. And Bellingham appears to have remembered that for ever.

“I always remember celebrations,” he told TVE. “I remember Ronaldo at Camp Nou and [doing] calma. Stuff like that sticks with you in your head, the iconic moments.”

Bellingham arrived from Borussia Dortmund this summer for a reported £89 million ($112 million), but he has been such a great addition to Madrid that the deal may perhaps have been a steal. Currently, he is preparing for one of his most important games to date. Los Blancos would be overtaken by Xaxi’s team if they lost, but a victory would put Madrid four points ahead of their fierce rivals.

On November 5, Madrid plays Rayo Vallecano following El Clasico, while Barca plays Real Sociedad the day before.
