There are ten housemates left in the house, and a key question is who eventually picks up the prime trophy at the end of the day.

1.. Ike

Ike

Ike over the past weeks has demonstrated the tendency to survive against odds, whether by shere personal grit or with a mixture of luck.

Remember his much discussed hook-up with Mercy, another interesting member of the house, whih appeared to have been initiated by Ike, not necessarily in words. Of course, it is a house that demands your best in terms of strategic thinking, and this dud appears to be giving that.

His successful come back in the midst of hurdles is one evidence of tenacity and adds up to other attributes that Ike may deploy in eventually coming out tops. We are still watching.

2. Omashola

If you seek housemates who have many good things going for them, Omashola is one, having amongst others, won veto power of chance, and ability to save and replace himself if he is put up for eviction.

In addition, he can decide to give another housemate the privilege and put himself up for eviction.

Recall that this privilege was thrust on the Sunday night, following Venita’s eviction.

He just seemed to stick with fans early in the season, yet, has been able to evade needless controversy. You know that in widely followed participatory game like this, the slightest display of negative misdemeanor could spell danger.

3. Tacha

It is difficult to discuss this edition of the BBNaija and not mention Tacha. And this is for more reasons than one. Number one is that he is an outstanding survivor. Or how elese do you explain the point that six times, her name showed up for eviction, and for the whole of those times, she survived.

Recall also, that she is probably one of the housemantes generally misunderstood, an example being the tag on her as an arrogant housemate.

Some have wondered whether it has anything to do with the point that she calls herself, ‘Portharcourt’s 1st daughter’, or that she is herself dramatic. Whichever, she has been able to tide through the storms of her actions. And even as the show inches to winding down,  much more is expected to  not just in the house, but around this housemate.

Diane

4. Diane

When last month Diane had the tough task of saving and evicting a housemate, being the Veto Power holder, she opted to saving Sir Dee, replacing him with Joe. And she was to tell Ebuka Obi-Uchendu later that Sir Dee was just like a brother to her

Diane couldn’t also hide her emotions when he was  eventually evicted in the ninth week.

That is not the only time that human nature manifested fully in her: here was someone who openely declared that she has no feelings for light-skinned housemates, only to later embrace Elozonam.

Her entry to the house was last June 30, and if physical beauty has its gains, Diane is a testament.

5. Elozonam

Elozonam in Igbo mythology is strong appellation, more like a supplication to the Almighty never to forget one.

Thus far, this prayer appears to have been heeded for Elozonam remains in contention for the ultimate prize. He had been a winner of Veto Power and remains regular on the social media, which has had its own advantages in the his run thus far in the house.

With Diane, it has however been difficult to properly situate their emotions – are they for each other, are they not?

Elozonam also has shown that later does not mean last, and that the display of certain sills in certain settings could go a long way. Recall his performaces during the Saturday night party – many fans still reckon with it, and has used it as excuse to stay with Elozonam.

6. Frodd

When it comes to housemates making prime page news with utterances, Frodd has an upper hand. He was the one who told Cindy: “I am not worthy to be here but I am a child of grace”. Why not? In the midst of equally or even not better qualified opponents it takes grace, and abundant goodwill to be amongst the last ten.

Earlier, the same grace had more or less spoken up for him when he won the Head of House challenge.

Yet, the humaneness in this housemate has equally spoken up before now, the reason he is tagged the official ‘Cry Baby’ of the season.

He had been upfor eviction severally, in fact the highest number of times, but has managed to survive.

7. Mercy

Mercy

Don’t joke with it, sometimes, seductive appearance has its both negative and positive sides for a show like BBnaija. But how this has played out in the case of this house mate, is actually difficult to say.

Today, she remains a strong contender despite what has been described in some quarters as very suggestive fashion in the early days of the show.

For relationship in the house, she demonstated doggedness, and unwillingness to lose out with Ike. She had as a threat, an Ella that seemed to have completely won Ike to her side. But things were to show otherwise.

Take or leave it, Mercy has her fans’following, otherwise, she would have taken her leave.

She is an interesting personality to watch as BBNaija caravan continues its journey.

8. Cindy

Cindy

Remember starry-eyed Cindy- when it was time to know which housemates could demonstrate art in throwing balls into a pot hole created by Biggie, it was Cindy that shone. She performed this feat at the end of an interesting twenty-five minutes.

And in her, we learn the moral lesson that multi-talent is an asset to take to a contest of the caliber of BBNaija.

Lesson two, is that there could be more to outward looks than meets the eye, and that momentary loss of temperament does not fully define a housemate.  You will recall that she actually had a confrontation with Frodd over a bottle of cashew nuts. Yet, many did not reckon with her early.

Having survived two evictions and won the ‘Head Of House’ title once,  It will not be a surprise if she emerges victorious. In real life, perfection belongs to the realms of prayer, and not a reality.

9. Mike

It is not possible to discuss hopefuls and not mention Mike. He has survivied evictions, and you only achieve such a feat if you are desired or as some will say loved. In fact, the weaker you are, the tendency to have your fans’base swell.

10. Seyi

Seyi

Seyi has been head of the house twice. You will usually sense a kind of bonding with Tacha even if this has not come to open manifestation. Rememer, it is said that some people speak more when they are silent, yet they cannot convincingly put their body language in check.  Is anything going to blossom with Tacha eventually, only time will tell, but for now, Seyi remains in contention just like the rest of the remaining nine.

The Eagle wishes all of them fortune at the end of the day, although they are already in privilege, having come this far.
