Bayern Munich Set Asking Price For Barcelona-Linked Pavard

Bayern has stated that they are seeking €30 million (£27 million/$33 million) from Barcelona for right-back Benjamin Pavard in order to sign money for loanee Joao Cancelo.

Pavard has been mentioned in relation to Barcelona as they search for a long-term right-back answer.

However, Bayern was hesitant to sell this January, and Barca was unable to make a serious offer due to budgetary constraints.

The French international is anticipated to be pursued by Barcelona this summer, and according to SPORT, Bayern has put their asking price at €30 million. With Cancelo’s buy-option set at €70 million (£62 million/$76 million), they anticipate needing the money to sign him to a permanent contract after he was on loan from Man City.

Hector Bellerin’s departure from Barcelona in January left them without a natural right-back in their starting lineup.

The Blaugrana need a more long-term solution, even if Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde have had successful stints in the role. The 26-year-old Pavard appears to be a capable candidate.

Kounde asserted last summer that he has no intention of playing the position long term: “I am never going to refuse to play,” he told SPORT.

“But in my formative stage I have always been central defender and I consider that it is the position in which I have many more concepts.”

The France international is expected to stay with Bayern for the rest of the season, but a summer transfer to Camp Nou is a possibility.
