Arsenal Supporters’ Man City Firework Plan Backfires After ‘Huge’ Gaffe

A major blunder has caused Arsenal supporters’ intentions to disturb Manchester City’s sleep schedule during the Premier League title battle to backfire.

Videos posted on social media have shown groups of Gunners supporters, considered to be the Ashburton Army group, letting off fireworks in the area surrounding the Marriott Hotel in Waltham Abbey. Those events played out at around 2am, in the belief that Pep Guardiola’s squad were inside said building.

Ashburton Army posted the message: “Oh, man, I had a great night’s sleep. Hope you all did as well.” Their intention was to keep the City squad awake ahead of a crucial clash with Tottenham on Tuesday, with Arsenal needing their north London neighbours to do them a favour in that contest.

However, there are rumours that City slept the night in Manchester before making the Tuesday morning trip to the English capital. Therefore, the fireworks show put on by supporters of Arsenal did nothing more than irritate gullible guests at the Marriott Hotel.

Arsenal will be expecting for a lacklustre performance from City against Spurs, even though their plan may not have worked as intended. With their superior goal differential, the Gunners would have a slim lead at the top of the table going into the season’s final day even if the defending champions lost their most recent match.
