Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City & Barcelona In Race To Sign £50m Leipzig Star

Premier League giants Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal along with Barcelona are reportedly ready to fight for €50 million-rated Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko.

The 20-year-old striker for RB Leipzig has a contract that expires in June 2028, but according to BILD, it has an exit clause worth €50 million (£43 million/$54 million), which will be activated during the next summer transfer window. While the price tag may seem steep for a player of Sesko’s age, his recent performances suggest he could prove to be a valuable investment.

Sesko has settled very nicely in Germany and is starting to play well on the pitch, even if the season got off to a poor start. Sesko has shown off his goal-scoring ability in his previous three Bundesliga games, helping Leipzig defeat Union Berlin and save a draw against Augsburg. Furthermore, his performance in the Champions League match against Real Madrid demonstrated his potential as he repeatedly knocked on Andriy Lunin’s goal. Early in the game, he did manage to put the ball in the net, but VAR rejected him.

Sesko has the potential to become one of Europe’s most deadly strikers if he can score goals in both domestic and European competitions, according to scouts from Liverpool, City, and Barcelona. They understand that the striker has the potential to exceed a valuation of £100m in the future, and then the initial investment of £43m could prove to be a bargain.

Sesko would have fierce competition from teams like Liverpool and City, who have established strikers like Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland in their lineups, for playing time. The two might not want to let such a talented forward pass them by, though. The Slovenian is the ideal substitute for Robert Lewandowski, who is now being sought after by Barcelona in Spain.
