Arsenal Coach Arteta Makes Decision on Nketiah’s Future 

Amid interest from two Premier League clubs, Mikel Arteta has decided on Eddie Nketiah’s future at Arsenal.

The English forward, who has made 23 appearances for the team in all competitions this season, is valued highly by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, and as such, he will not be sold or loaned out during the forthcoming January transfer window, according to The Sun.

Speaking to reporters, the Gunners boss said in October: “He’s got an eye for goal. You look at his stats from the last 10 years. What he’s done is remarkable. He needs minutes, opportunities and service. If he gets that, Eddie is going to score goals, that’s for sure. He’s a great player for Arsenal. He can be better, yes. And the best thing is the talent that he’s got, but especially his mentality is incredible. When he has that mentality with that talent, he’s going to get much better.”

According to The Sun, Nketiah has recently attracted interest from Crystal Palace and Brentford, two Premier League teams. The north London club has also been linked to a deal for Ivan Toney, the star forward for The Bees.

However, even if Toney does decide to sign with Arsenal, they won’t let their 24-year-old star go since they need a deep bench to compete fiercely for the Premier League title in the second half of the campaign.

Arteta’s side will head into Christmas as the league leaders after they managed a 1-1 draw at Anfield against Liverpool on Saturday. They will be next seen in action in the Premier League on Thursday as they take on West Ham.
