Arsenal Boss Calls on Fans To Be ‘Hostile’ Against Liverpool 

Mikel Arteta has urged Arsenal fans to make the Emirates a more imposing venue to visit as the Gunners prepare for a huge FA Cup tie with Liverpool.

As Arsenal prepares to meet Liverpool in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, Arteta has called on the supporters of the club to “tweak” the present mood at the Emirates and intensify the animosity. The Gunners have suffered two straight losses, most recently a 2-0 setback to West Ham in north London.

Quoted by The Guardian, Arteta told reporters: “Can we tweak it and make it even more hostile? I think we can. That’s the next step in my opinion. We have to be so grateful for what we’re achieving in our home ground. Sunday is going to be another big one.”

Arsenal has played ten games, winning seven, drawing two, and losing one, to rank fourth in the Premier League behind Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Newcastle. Five wins, two ties, and three losses give them the fourth-best away record as well. Given that neither team will be wearing that hue due to a significant local initiative, Arteta should feel completely confident while facing Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

Arsenal’s next Premier League match is at home against Crystal Palace on January 20, after they play Liverpool in the FA Cup this weekend. The Gunners’ other match of the month is away to Nottingham Forest on the 30th.
