APC Rally: Follow These Guides To Avoid Traffic Trap

To avoid traffic trap, expected today on account of the scheduled All Progressives Congress, APC rally billed, certain traffic directives have become imperative.

They have been released by the Lagos Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to help motorists navigate easily.

For example, it is expected that the APC rally would result in a congested Lagos today, the state being an APC controlled one.

“As a result of the rally slated for Feb.21, there will be a procession of APC presidential candidate, party stalwarts, party faithful and supporters from the local airport to stadium through Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way”, says the  General Manager LASTMA, Mr Bolaji Oreagba.

Oreagba who issued a statement to help Lagosians avoid the expected traffic trap, said adherence is important.

“Also from Maryland, Ikorodu road, Idi-Iroko, Anthony, Obanikoro, Onipanu, Fadeyi, Jibowu, Empire, Moshalashi, Ojuelegba, Barracks and Stadium.

“While the procession holds on the main carriage way on Ikorodu road, the service lane will be available for use by the motorists without any hassle.

“In order to reduce inconvenience and travel time before and during the procession and rally, motorists can make use of the following route.

“Ikorodu to Lagos, Lagos-ibadan Expressway to Lagos-Oshodi should use old toll gate, Alapere, Ogudu, Iyana Oworo, Third Mainland Bridge and connect destination.

“Apapa-Oshodi Expressway to Lagos should use Oshodi bridge, Anthony bridge, Gbagada, Iyana Oworo, Third Mainland bridge to connect destination” he said.

He said motorists from Ojuelegba to Surulere should use Lawanson-Itire road, Ogunlana drive, Akerele, Shitta roundabout, Adeniran Ogunsaya, Bode Thomas, Masha, Adelabu, Census, Babs Animashaun.

“They can also use Bode Thomas or Doyin to Eric Moore to Abebe Village to Costain and connect destination.

“Hence, motorists are advised to make use of the following alternative routes during the procession.

-LASTMA’s advice on affected routes for the APC Rally: From local airport to Maryland: use Kodesoh, Obafemi Awolowo Way,Kudirat Abiola Way Ojota and Maryland

-Motorists comimg from local airport to Ketu Mile 12, use: Kodesoh, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Secretariat Road, Mobolaji Johnson Avenue, 7-Up, Ojota Interchange, Ketu and connect destination.

Motorists from Costain to Surulere:  use Costain to iponri to Iponri Estate to Bode Thomas and connect destination.

As a further way to avoid traffic trap, he said that security men would be deployed to ensure the directive works on the routes indicated.
