Barely a week after organisers of a festival in Ozoro Delta State, allegedly sexually assaulted a girl, another case of schoolgirl assault has been recorded.
This time, it is the case of female students stripping their peer naked and thrashing her at their school located somewhere in Benue State
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has waded into the case following a viral video showing the incident.
Responding to the development via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, the agency announced that it has mandated its Benue State Command to take swift action.
“This is indeed a sad development. The case has been forwarded to our Benue State Command, which has been directed to immediately liaise with the relevant agencies in the state to ensure swift and appropriate action on the matter,” NAPTIP wrote.
