It was learnt that a source in Katsina that the family of the senator had announced his demise saying he died in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. It was learnt that the president of the Senate Bukola Saraki and the speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara expressed sadness over the death of Wakili who was the chairman of the committee on poverty alleviation at the upper chamber. Wakili died at the age of 58 and his death was confirmed by Saraki in a series of tweets to mourn his deceased colleague.
