The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) has reacted to a report in an online publication, Premium Times alleging an impending court threat to jail its Director-General (DG).

The rejoinder with the title: RE: ALSCON: Court Threatens To Jail BPE DG goes thus:
“The Bureau’s attention has been drawn to a Premium Times publication of Tuesday, 23rd April, 2019 with the headline: ALSCON: Court threatens to jail BPE DG.
Although we believe that the Premium Times publication falls far short of accepted standards of balanced and responsible journalism, we shall refrain from making detailed comments here since the issues erroneously reported in the article are pending before a competent Court of law and as such are subjudice. The Bureau will respect the authority of the courts and not litigate on the pages of newspapers.

However, it is important to stress that the Bureau as a responsible law abiding agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria has complied with all orders and directives of the Courts as regards ALSCON
”.   The rejoinder, dated April 26, 2019 was signed by Amina Tukur Othman, Head of Public Communications of the bureau.
