Ajadi Salutes Olubadan Of Ibadanland On His Coronation

A youthful contender in the 2023 presidential election in the country, Mr Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Sen. (Dr) Lekan Balogun, on his installation ceremony.

Ajadi, in a congratulatory message signed by his media advisor, Mr Cami Ezenwa, described the royal father’s installation as 42nd Olubadan as an endorsement of confidence and trust of the entire Ibadan people.

He said the Olubadan’s wide acceptance, beginning with his endorsement by ten out of the eleven members of the Olubadan in council, and the goodwill that have trailed his emergence, remained true testaments of his wide acceptance amongst his people.

He prayed God to provide him the wisdom and courage to administer the office effectively.

“Sir, I join millions of well-wishers in Nigeria and outside to congratulate you on this epoch event.

“I also join in the fervent prayers to the Almighty God to grant you the grace to excel on the throne.

Ajadi said as true sons of Ibadan, that he would continue to pray for a successful reign that would lift Ibadanland far higher than it currently.

He also enjoined other Ibadan sons and daughters to lend their support to the new Olubadan.

The Eagle reports that Ibadan literally stood still today as the coronation activities of the Olubadan reached its peak at the Mapo Hall in the ancient city.

The event drew a crowd of distinguished Nigerians including the vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Chairman of the Governors’ Forum and Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Oyo State governor, Dapo Abiodun, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Alafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar.

In his remark after the installation, the new monarch said: “I will not let Ibadan down, I will not let Nigeria down”.
