I know Why Nigeria Lost To Morocco: It was given yesterday for Nigeria to win its semi-final match against Morocco at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025)) Competition holding in that country

But like you already know Nigeria lost that game, the Super Eagles exorcising itself off premium reckoning.in this year’s competition by that loss: 2:4 through penalties.

The team would now seek to salvage whatever is left of its golden reputation in a third-place square-up against Egypt.

But honestly, the semi-final match against Morocco was not supposed to drag into penalties as it eventually did: it was supposed to have been wrapped up in regulation time with Nigeria emerging victorious.

How, why then did the Super Eagles lose to Morocco?

They did well before the D-Day.

They did long before the kick off of the match.

In fact, they did immediately they secured their quarter final victory.

Permit me, but they had begun to assume too much, to talk too much, to celebrate too much and to lose sight of too much.

A victory-tasty warrior would do more on the side of tact and strategy for the next opponent than accolading and relishing in past wins.

They had simply begun to exude an alternative energy, not exorcising themselves of  the celebrative mood that usually blinds one from imminent danger.

They reckoned less that a match-up like theirs demanded much more: soberness, discipline, goal-driven focus, precision, total concentration.

In such a situation, the much you could tell yourselves is:

-this is the biggest and most challenging game we will ever play in this competition.

-Yes, thank God that we have come this far, but we have not done much.

– Thank you God for past victories, but Sir, you cannot afford to abandon us now

In other words, perish every boast, sink every over-assumption, if possible strip your self of any cheer bordering on previous victories: what is the worth of previous victories when there are worthier accolades ahead?

Nothing can stand between a man with that kind of mindset, and victory.

The lack of those, I am persuaded is why Nigeria lost to Morocco.

The moral is that if you are so ok with a victory of the moment and relish it such that

But, if you,  as much as appreciating the victory of the moment, tell yourself and condition your mind that it is but only one of many victories that must be won, you have succeeded in switching on, the win-more tendency.

There could have been other contributory factors, left to the technical crew to unearth and deal with; but this the above, to me, is why Nigeria lost to Morocco.
