Adverse Weather Conditions Overrun Scotland, Met Office Advices Caution

Adverse weather conditions may have overrun Scotland, making the Meteorological Office to extent its weather warnings to cover more areas.

Southern Scotland has joined the list of areas affected by the adverse weather which hitherto had Glasgow, Ayrshire and Edinburgh.

It now covers as far south as Lockerbie but the timing of the warning hasn’t changed with it remaining in place until 5pm at present.

Gusts of upwards of 85mph have already been recorded with the storm expected to get worse as the day continues.

Feelers from Scotland show that public transport has all been suspended with ScotRail not delivering any service throughout the day while First Bus cancelled all buses in Glasgow between 8am and 6pm, with a view to them returning to the road tonight.

Shops and pubs have also shut with people urged to stay indoors as the country prepares for the worst of the weather.

In other words, a red weather warning, The Eagle findings show,  has come into force for much of central and south west Scotland with the Met Office saying there is a “danger to life”.

The adverse weather warnings indicated by the following:

1. Wind gust of 100mph recorded as Storm Eowyn hits Scotland, even as the autoriteis have
2. No trains to run until noon on Saturday,
3. Around 20,000 homes without power as red warning extended to south of Scotland
4. ‘Danger to life’ as rare red weather warning for wind issued in parts of Scotland
