PHOTOS: Abuja in Fiasco As #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest Commences

There has been fiasco in the Federal Territory Capital (FCT) Abuja, where the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest got underway this morning.

It was not just any other protest, following the full deployment of security operatives in the FCT.

The Eagle correspondent on ground to see events unfold, stated that the commencement of the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow immediately crippled vehicular movement.

The city and especially, Jikwoyi, Mararraba, Nyanya have been amongst the worst hit in the resultant traffic chaos, that has left a lot of motorists pinned to one spot in some cases.

Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, had been spearheading a protest aimed at pressuring the authorities to release the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples OF Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Sowore, on a number of media engagements, argued that there were no legal justifications anymore to keep Kanu in detention, and that the Federal Government should do well to release him.

Motorists who have been caught on the crossfire of the protests have equally been expressing anger, wondering why a protest aimed for Aso Villa, should translate to untold suffering for hundreds of thousands of Nigerians trying to provide a meal for the day.
