Aboro of Obese Urges Peace At Dangote Cement Company Day

The Aboro of Ibese Land, His Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Rotimi Oluseyi Mulero, Olokojobi III, has sued for continued peace and harmony between host communities and the Dangote Cement Company Limited.

He made the plea yesterday during the Community Day event sponsored by the company at its premises at Obese, Ogun State His royal majesty said corporate organisations played important roles in ensuring the economic growth and development of the people and community, but that peace was needed for this to happen.

Alayeluwa further expressed his goodwill message on behalf of all traditional rulers of the various host communities, to the management team of Dangote Cement most especially the Chairman and CEO, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, for continuous helpful initiatives and supports aimed at improving the welfare and status of the host communities.

He also stressed the need for the company to place utmost priority on the area of employment for the youths of the host communities. “As we all know that an idle hand is the devil’s workshop, a person with a tight schedule of profitable daily activities will barely have time to engage in any form of vices which could threaten the peaceful coexistence of the community and the company”, he said.

His Majesty concluded by urging beneficiaries of the various empowerment programmes to put to good use, the materials presented to them and ensure durability by being good ambassadors of the host communities, in order to encourage the company to do even more in subsequent years.

The Eagle reports that the empowerment aspect of the event covered women farmers, and youth, as well as presentation of cheques to scholarship beneficiaries across all the host communities.Earlier in their respective remarks, the Plant Director Mr Azad Nawabuddin and Mr Wakeel Olayiwola, the Head of Social Performance of the Dangote cement PLC, had appreciated the Royal fathers for their relentless efforts and supports which had ensured peaceful operations of the company since inception. They also extended appreciations to Ogun State Government and the entire citizens of the host communities for their cooperation.

There was also a recap of some of the projects that have been completed in the various host communities for the 2023 calendar year as part of the Corporate Social Responsibilities of the company and gave assurance of more support from the company in years to come.

Commissioner for Ministry of Industries, Trade and Investment, Mr Adebola Emmanuel Sofela was ably represented by the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry. Other traditional leaders at the well attended event included; HRM. Oba Daniel Abayomi Salako, the Aboro of Ibooro, HRM. Oba Lukman Olalekan Kuoye, the Olu of Imasayi, HRM Oba Adio Kusoro, Olu of Ago Olowo, HRM Oba Mathew Ayinde Ajibulu, Olu of Onigbedu, and other traditional titled Chiefs from the various host Communities.
