Abia Township Association Empowers 150 youths

The Lagos State branch of Nsulu Development Association of Abia State said they have empowered one hundred and fifty youths in 2018.
These was made known to the public on December 5, 2018 by the Chairman Mr. J.N. Samuel during the end of the year party at Ajao Estate area of Lagos.
The chairman who spoke to our correspondent shortly after the party said their aim is to make sure the youths are engaged, have sustainable jobs without being influenced by the society of today.
He said ” We must empower at least one fifty youths every year because rate of unemployment is too high and we can’t keep quiet waiting for government alone to do this”.
“We started five years ago; due to lack if fund, we didn’t do much but when the Nsulu Community home and abroad discovered that what we are doing is for the best interest of the youths and the society in general, they decided to fund it, and now we have expanded the operation to accommodate so many more youths”.
The chairman expressed the optimism that next year’s edition of the programme would be bigger.
He said there were more applications waiting on the association’s table and that it would be good to attend to such.
” We want to make sure our youths know that elders care for them.
“We are doing these alone not having in mind to involve any government or want politics into it”, he said..
According to the chairman, the association is transparently run as there was in place, a committee in place which scrutinising the activities of the association.
