My name is Nikky Laoye.  I am a recording artiste and also a radio host. I run a radio show called Girls Rock at mainstream radio station and also a humanitarian- I run Angel For Life Foundation.

IN TERMS OF MUSIC, WHAT KIND OF SONGS DO YOU DO?

I like to call it urban contemporary gospel music. I can do sounds like: hip pop, fuji, rock, gospel, soul, everything all together.

THUS FAR, DO YOU HAVE ANY ALBUM TO YOUR CREDIT?

Yes, I have two albums to my credit at the moment.

I have actually been doing this for some years now. I have two albums Angel of life and 123 projects.

YOU ARE HERE FOR BOUQUI; WHAT ARE YOUR WISHES FOR HER TONIGHT?

My wishes for Bouqui tonight? In deed Bouqui was one of the major pioneers that we had in gospel raps here in Nigeria and we did so much together back in the years. It’s great to see her back in Nigeria at this time because the truth is that since she left, there’s nobody like her, nobody has fitted into her shoes and I’m excited to see the great things she is about to do with music.

Also, I want to see how we can work together to push urban gospel forward, especially in Nigeria

DO YOU HAVE ANY ROLE MODEL?

My role model is my mum.

 WHY YOUR MUM?

She is the most hardworking, the most caring woman. A lot of people say, Nikky you have a big heart, you are caring, I’m like no, you’ve not met my mum. My mum is more caring than I.

If she can split herself into two to help two people at the same time, she will do it.  So has such a heart. She’s been an amazing role model to me and I love her so much.
