A classic case of people taking the laws into their own hands, this time over alleged child theft has played out again.
An angry mob just stormed a police station, overpowered officers on duty, dragged out a woman accused of child theft and administered jungle justice instantly.
These much have been confirmed by the Kaduna State Police Command.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Maraban Jos received a distress call at about 10:00 a.m. reporting that a woman was being attacked by residents over an alleged child theft.

He said police officers swiftly responded, and succeeded in rescuing the woman, a native of Maraban Jos, and taking her into protective custody pending investigation.
However that was not to be the end, as hundreds of angry residents reportedly stormed the police station.
They overwhelmed officers on duty, forcibly removed the woman from custody, brutally killing her before setting her body alight
Sadly, there was no evidence to support the allegations against the victim, and the Kaduna State Police Command has condemned the act of people taking the law into their own hand.
Describing the act as a direct assault on the rule of law and an attack on a police formation, it said it has arrested many suspects in relation to the incident.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, has announced that those responsible would face the full weight of the law, even as his men have begun a manhunt for suspects.
He used the opportunity to reiterate to condemn jungle justice, mob action or attacks on law enforcement personnel.
