A second-year law student has been hospitalised following intense beatings he received reenacting Jesus carrying of the cross at Good Friday.
He was portraying Jesus Christ during a Good Friday “Way of the Cross” reenactment, but apparently, got beatings more than he bargained.
The incident happened at Our Lady of Africa Church in Mbuya, Uganda, where many worshippers and spectators had gathered for the annual passion play.
According to reports, the performance took a dangerous turn during scenes showing the suffering of Jesus Christ.
Those playing the role of soldiers apparently, did not make a clear distinction, between acting and real life, and delivered devastating whips to Denis.
