European University Sets UTME Cut-Off For 2025/2026 Session

Did you sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and desire to learn at the European University of Nigeria (EUN), Abuja?

If so, the university has announced a 150 score or above in the UTME for those seeking admission into it.

The university announced the cut off in Abuja yesterday,  at a news conference ahead of the institution’s maiden matriculation ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Ibezim, speaking around the theme, “Addressing the Gaps in Nigerian University Education: A Practical Reform Agenda”, said the university was established as a strategic response to persistent challenges facing the Nigerian university education sector.

He mentioned such challenges as unstable academic calendars, industrial actions, weak university–industry linkages, infrastructure deficits and rising graduate unemployment.

“We are delivering European-standard education within Nigeria at affordable rates. This is our contribution to reversing educational migration and conserving foreign exchange for national development,” he said.

Ibezim explained that European University, currently offered 23 programmes fully approved by the National Universities Commission and recognised by relevant professional bodies.

He listed the programmes to include Pharmacy, Nursing, Law, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Medical Laboratory Science, and Business Administration, Accountancy, Mass Communication, Anatomy, Public Health, Political Science and Information Technology.

Ibezim said the university is equipped with modern laboratories, digital classrooms, furnished hostels, 24-hour electricity and water supply, campus-wide Wi-Fi, a medical centre, pharmacy, sports facilities and a secure learning environment.

Drawing inspiration from leading European academic systems, with visiting lecturers from partner institutions abroad, the university he said, operated a blended European–Nigerian curriculum, even with ongoing arrangements to deepen collaborations in research, exchange programmes and joint academic initiatives.

According to Ibezim, private universities operate under stringent regulatory conditions without benefiting from TETFund allocations, despite heavy investments in infrastructure, personnel and laboratories.

He maintained that EUN remained one of the more affordable private institutions, offering merit-based and need-based scholarships.

“Our vision is that within five years, EUN will rank among Nigeria’s leading institutions in Cybersecurity, Nursing, Pharmacy, Software Engineering and Law, while producing globally competitive, skill-driven graduates,”

On research and innovation, he said the university prioritised commercially viable projects, including locally fabricated laboratory equipment, digital learning tools, drone technology and computational drug research

He added that the institution planned to expand into Environmental Impact Assessment services, pharmaceutical production and commercial research support in line with Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda.
