Pathetic As Truck Cuts Down Woman On Her Way To Church

A family and members of a new generation church have been thrown into mourning after a truck knocked down a female member, a woman on her way to church

The tragic incident happened yesterday, at the NYSC Bus-Stop, inward Igando area of Lagos State.

The victim identified as a female member of a Mountain of Fire & Miracles (MFM) Ministry, was on her way to service at MFM Church, Igando, when she was hit by a Mercedes-Benz C-300.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), while confirming the incident stated:

“Upon receipt of distress alerts, LASTMA personnel stationed along the Igando axis responded with commendable alacrity and operational proficiency.

“Demonstrating tactical coordination and adherence to established emergency response protocols, the officers promptly cordoned off the accident scene to forestall secondary collisions and ensure the safety of other road users.

“Vehicular movement within the corridor was meticulously regulated to prevent congestion and additional hazards, while requisite safety procedures were immediately activated.

“In a deeply reprehensible development, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz C-300 absconded from the scene upon recognising the fatal outcome of the collision.

“This act of flight not only compounds the gravity of the tragedy but also constitutes a flagrant violation of statutory and civic obligations incumbent upon motorists involved in traffic incidents.”

The news of the sad death of a woman on her way to church, reportedly sent cold shivers down the spines of other members when it got there.

The bereaved husband and some members of the church promptly mobilised to the scene to know what next line of action to take.

In reaction, Bakare-Oki, restated LASTMA’s unwavering commitment to preserving the lives of Lagosians  while also cautioning motorists to be careful.
