Nigerian Air Force Reacts To Crash Of Its Drone

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reacted to its unmanned crashed drone, within the Operation FASAN YAMMA Sector 3 area of the North-West region.

NAF’s official reaction was released by NAF spokesman, Air Cdre Ehimen Ejodame saying the crash occurred while the drone was a routine mission.

The statement said the unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), was deployed on a routine mission on Friday, January 2, 2026, and that “All efforts to restore the link proved abortive; accordingly, in line with established procedures, the crew initiated emergency return-to-base actions, while the NAF immediately activated coordinated response and recovery measures in collaboration with sister Services and relevant authorities.

“The platform has since been contained, with assessment and recovery activities progressing as planned.”

“There has been no loss of life, and operational activities across all theatres continue uninterrupted,” he added.

The Nigerian Air Force, also used the opportunity to reacting to its crashed drone, to reassure members of the public of its continued professionalism and operational focus especially given the task of containing insurgency in the north east part of the country.
