Pregnant UNIPORT Student Douses Returnee-Lover With Petrol, Then…

The Choba community, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State is in shock following an ugly incident which just played out between a returnee-lover and his pregnant University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) student.

The Saturday incident saw 25-year-old Cynthia Chukwunda, a 300-level student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), dousing her returnee-lover identified as Sunny Amadi with petrol and setting him alight.

The man had given up the ghost from burns sustained from the fire, while the lady is also still receiving treatment at the hospital for injuries inflicted by her reaction.

An eyewitness said both individuals hail from Emohua Local Government Area of the state with Sunny returning unannounced at Cynthia’s residence after being absent for over six months following her pregnancy.

According to the source, identified as Emmanuel Cynthia had left her door open to quickly buy some items, only to return and find Sunny lying on her bed.

Both had exchanged words over the unexpected visit, and Cynthia had left quietly, only to come back with petrol. She then waited until Sunny had fallen fell asleep before dousing him and the bed with fuel and setting them on fire.

“The guy came to visit her after being away for so long,” Emmanuel said. “He entered the room when she wasn’t around and lay on the bed.

“When Cynthia came back and saw him, she was not pleased. After an argument, she left, returned later while he was sleeping, and then set him on fire”, a report in the Vanguard stated.

The incident which occurred at Cynthia’s residence in Choba, had sparked an outrage in the community, the report added.
