Nottingham Forest Learn Final Verdict In Appeal Against 4-Point Deduction

The Premier League fate of Nottingham Forest is still up in the air after they found out the outcome of their appeal against a four-point deduction.

Forest was fined four points by an independent panel created by the Premier League for violating profit and sustainability regulations. The club had acknowledged overspending by £34.5 million over a three-year period.

The Athletic reports that Forest filed an appeal against the ruling, claiming that they were at a disadvantage to other Premier League teams that have been in the top division for much longer and thus have higher spending limits. However, the commission upheld its initial ruling, and the docked points are still recorded on the team’s record.
