Man Utd Boss, Ten Hag Told To ‘Shut Up’ After Rashford Injury Complaints

Following Erik ten Hag’s complaint about the negative impacts of fixture congestion, Palmeiras manager Abel Fereira instructed him to “shut up.”

Manager Ten Hag expressed his concern at losing his team’s leading scorer this season after Marcus Rashford hobbled off in pain from his groin during Manchester United’s victory over Everton over the weekend.

Ten Hag also suggested that the injury may have been caused by the team’s unsettling fixture schedule. The remarks made by the Dutchman infuriated Fereira, the manager of Palmeiras, who has stated that he has a much busier agenda in Brazil.

Speaking after watching his side storm to a 4-0 win against Agua Santa to win the Campeonato Paulista, Fereira told reporters: “Football here (in Brazil) has fantastic things… But there are others that are inhumane. Nine games in a month!”

He then pivoted, directing his attack towards Ten Hag and his issues with fixtures: “The Manchester United coach the other day complained that Rashford was injured due to the sequence of games they have… I would like to ask him or tell him: ‘In these next two months, I’m going to have nine games a month… Shut up, because you don’t know what you’re saying’”.

While nine games in one month is unquestionably excessive, United has also had a demanding schedule since the beginning of the year. The Red Devils also have nine games left to play in April after playing 13 straight midweek matches prior to the March international break while dealing with important players’ ailments and suspensions.

However, through the end of the season, United might be playing at least two games per week because they are still in the FA Cup and Europa League.

As Rashford’s injury situation is uncertain ahead of Thursday’s Europa League match against Sevilla, United is encouraged by the return of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.
