Chelsea is getting closer to signing winger Noni Madueke after PSV Eindhoven accepted a £35 million offer.

Madueke is on track to become the third forward to join Stamford Bridge in the past week and Chelsea’s 15th acquisition since Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital acquired the club.

Chelsea will now speak with Madueke about personal matters before having the player undergo a medical, and Holland anticipates that the 20-year-old will finalize a trade.

Former young player for Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur, Madueke joined PSV in 2018 and primarily operates as the right wing.

This week, Telegraph Sport reported that Chelsea’s spending has raised red flags within their esteemed academy, and the signing of Madueke will further fuel worries that the club’s homegrown prospects may encounter obstacles on their way to the first team.

Chelsea will be under much more pressure to start their intended clear-out as soon as possible after signing Joao Felix on loan and Mudryk last week.

Hakim Ziyech is rumored to be up for transfer this month, while Chelsea will consider bids for Christian Pulisic even if his injury probably precludes a January transfer.

Chelsea is still looking for a new midfielder and has made a bid for Enzo Fernandez of Benfica as well as having discussions regarding a transfer for Moises Caicedo, who Brighton values at more than £65 million.

Even though Reece James is on his way back from injury, Chelsea could yet recruit a new back-up right-back before this month’s transfer window closes.

Graham Potter, the team’s head coach, has received a major boost with the return of James and left-back Ben Chilwell to full training. Potter is preparing his team for the trip to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
