Senator Orji Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip, has said that there is nothing wrong with the All Progressives Congress fielding a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the presidential election of 2023.
Conversations about choosing a vice president from members of other faiths to allow for the integration of ethnic and religious differences have sparked controversy.
Several organisations, notably the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Catholic Society of Nigeria, have urged political parties against running a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the presidential election of 2023.
While speaking to journalists at the National Assembly on Wednesday, Kalu assured Christians that they had nothing to worry about because Bola Tinubu’s wife is a pastor who will always put the people’s interests first.
