The Presidency has released more facts on the Orire kidnappers, whose victims – pupils and their teachers from Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, have now been resuced.
It says eight of them have been arrested and are now being detained while others have been eliminated in the course of rescuing the victims.
These were contained a follow-up information, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on the release of the abductees.
While some of the kidnappers were eliminated, he said the eight arrested, are now in the custody of the Department of State Services,

“Updated: in the course of the rescue operation, eight of the kidnappers were arrested and are now in DSS custody, while some of them were neutralised.
“There was no quid pro quo in the rescue as one of the terrorists, a kingpin, that the kidnappers demanded his release, is being prosecuted for his atrocities. The security agencies will give full account soon”, he added.
