There is nothing that anger cannot do, including making a mother drown her 6 year old daughter in a river.
The mother’s action, triggered by the girl’s supposed stubbornness of bathing in the river, despite warnings, has left tongues in Ukubie community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, waging.
It has also left Madam Stella distraught after the implications of her action in that moment of rage dawned on her.
Amongst all, she would now be remembered for the bad reason – drowning her 6-year-old daughter, Rachael, in a fit of rage.
“Despite warnings to leave the water, Rachael refused, prompting her mother to become enraged,” an eyewitness recounted.
She was said to have acted in that split moment, grabbing the girl and throwing her into the river twice, accounts say.

“I regret my actions. I never knew it would happen this way,” she pleaded afterwards, seeking forgiveness from the community.
“I have recorded two deaths already in my paternal family at Ukubie this year. All were painful and heart-touching, but this one was so pathetic”, a family member, Jeph Nation, was quoted as saying.
Police Public Relations Officer, Musa Mohammed, however told the journalist that the matter had not been officially reported to the police.
