2023: Why I Won’t Endorse Any Candidates – Kumuyi

Dr. Williams Kumuyi, the general superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has declared that he would not support or rule anyone out of running for president of the country in the general elections of 2023.

While visiting Jalingo, Taraba State, for a convention of church workers from throughout the world, he addressed yesterday.

Dr. Kumuyi stated that Nigerians ought to have the freedom to pick who would lead them democratically and that prayers ought to be continued asking God to guide them in making the greatest decision possible for the nation.

He said, “I don’t want to get into recommending or disqualifying anyone. All we do is pray that God would give us the best leader and the best president in our country. He knows who is who and He knows what everyone would do when they get there. And God does his work in such a mysterious way that we cannot preempt him and say this is what will happen if this person comes in.

“But we know how God fulfilled his purpose through Nebuchadnezzar and through all the people that ruled in Bible times. And they were not all people that were on this side of the fence or theology. We want to leave everything in the hands of God and allow the Nigerian citizens to choose the people that would rule our country by democratically voting.”

In the forum, he urged the state’s church leaders to support their pastors, ministers, and employees in attending the conference, saying, “This is the first time we are having this across the globe and it has pleased the Lord to choose Taraba State to be the anchor and springboard of this impartation.”

While extending a warm welcome to the cleric, the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Dr. Jirapye Magaji, expressed the gratitude of the state’s Christian community for the honor of hosting the conference.

He also gave the clergyman a plaque in recognition of his excellent work in God’s vineyard.
