2023: Like Obi, Wike Makes Firm Promise For Kwankwaso’s Campaign
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, on Monday, vowed to back Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), by providing logistical support for his campaign in Rivers State.
Wike said Kwankwaso is a friend and a man of integrity. He invited Kwankwaso to open the Mgbutanwo Internal Roads in the state’s Emohua Local Government Area.
Last week Thursday, THEEAGLE reported that Wike had also promised to assist Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi with logistics for his campaign in the state. Wike had previously praised Obi as having all the qualities necessary to lead Nigeria.
He said, “I remember when I went to meet you in your house in Abuja to plead with you not to leave the party (PDP) because I knew you were an asset to the party. Even when they told me to leave you alone, I refused.
“I have known you and I know you are a man of integrity so I want to say that whenever you want to campaign in Rivers State, I will provide you with all your logistics, just let me know when you want to come.”

With regard to the project, Wike bragged that road work began in June 2021 and was finished four months ago. He also said that he would soon be announcing the commissioning of further projects.
“We just commissioned the ninth flyover last week and we will commission the 10th before the end of the year. We will also commission the 11th and 12th flyover next year.
“I said I will turn turn Emuoha around, have i not done it? I brought the best construction company in Nigeria to construct this road.”
