2023 General Elections: Sultan Tells Nigerians Who To Vote For

The Sultan of Sokoto and General President of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has advised Nigerians to choose candidates in the general elections of 2023 who have good moral character.

In his remarks to attendees at the 29th regular meeting of the National Council on Water Resources (NCWR) in Sokoto on Thursday, Abubakar made the call.

The Sultan advised Nigerians to exercise caution when casting their ballots as the country’s general elections drew near.

According to him, “Nigerians need to think and rethink of who they are casting their votes to.

“We should not consider the religious or ethnic backgrounds of any body we are voting for but Nigeria first.

“Our country should be our priority above any thing and not voting any person who may worsen our present challenges.”

Abubakar continued by saying that Nigerians needed to put their ethnic differences aside and accept reality in order for the country to advance.

He said, said:”Our country is far better than many countries of the world in terms of security.

“Therefore, we should continue to support and appreciate our country and leaders with prayers in order to be able to address our challenges.

Abubakar expressed his gratitude to the Federal Government for picking Sokoto State to host the council meeting, as well as to the Minister of Water Resources and ministry employees.
