Ahead of the 2023 election, the Arewa communities in Sagamu and Ogere, Ogun State, have assured the State governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo of their votes and pledged their unalloyed support for the actualisation of his gubernatorial ambition.

The Seriki’s of the Arewa in Sagamu and Ogere made this promise to  Ajadi during his visit to the Arewa communities in Sagamu and Ogere, Ogun State, on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

The Arewa of Sagamu, Alhaji Enuwa Garba Seriki, while receiving the gubernatorial candidate, said he and other members of the Arewa had received many candidates from other political parties in the past, adding that the parties did not fulfil their promises to the masses, in general, let alone remembering the Arewa.

“We have heard much of your humanitarian assistance, especially among the youths, so, we are giving you the assurance that our votes are for you because your antecedents are good,” he said.

Alhaji Abdulahi Abubakar Samunuka, the Seriki of Arewa in Ogere, said members of the Arewa were happy when they heard that New Nigeria People’s Party would be visiting the Arewa in Ogere, adding that NNPP is a people’s choice party.

“Governor should just continue propagating the NNPP within the Yoruba tribe because the Arewa groups are automatically for NNPP,” he said.

Ajadi, who was accompanied by the state Public Relations Officer, Olowu Kehinde among other political stalwarts of the party, had promised adequate security; social welfare through inclusive governance.

He said it was high time the indigenous people and the non-indigenous ones in Ogun State should clamour for total change, especially in the area of insecurity and infrastructural development.
