Endrick admitted “it was not a choice” but a “dream” to sign for Real Madrid and opened up on his bond with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

Endrick, who has been targeted by the Spanish powerhouses for almost a year, is expected to sign with the team in the summer of 2024. Madrid made the transfer after paying Palmeiras a record-breaking €60 million (£52 million/$64 million) to get an advantage over rivals Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite interest from several top European clubs, Endrick was clear about his intentions.

“It wasn’t a choice,” he stated in an interview with AS. “Madrid was always a dream. I didn’t have to choose anything; I just realised a dream”.

Endrick intends to quickly establish himself in Spain with the assistance of his fellow countrymen, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Eder Militao. The teenager called Vinicius and Rodrygo his “inspiration” and immediately had a strong kinship with the three of them.

“It’s very good,” Endrick said of his relationship with them. “They are young people, also Brazilians, who adapted very well to both the city and the club. Their story, both Vini’s and Rodrygo’s, is an inspiration and they are going to help me a lot.”

Endrick’s goals go beyond just getting on the team. He is already aiming to be crowned a European champion after joining Real Madrid, and he is fully aware of the tremendous expectations that come with the job.

“More than wanting, I know that it is mandatory to be European champion if you are in Madrid,” he asserted. “The Champions League is a tournament that Madrid always thinks about, and the team should not start the season with any other objective than that.”

FIFA rules state that Endrick must wait until July 21 to formally join Real Madrid until he becomes 18 years old. But as soon as he steps onto the Santiago Bernabeu pitch, he will be fulfilling a goal that a lot of young football players have, eager to leave his mark on Madrid’s storied past.
