Stage Set For Epe Grammar School Biennial Congress

The stage is set. The expectations are high. The level of preparation is high in anticipation of the 9th Biennial congress of the Old Students Association of Epe Grammar School.

The 2nd Biennial Congress of the association holds on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 at the School Auditorium starting at 10 am.

A statement by the Chairperson of the planning committee, Mrs. Olusola Alade-Raji, indicates that the epoch-making event would be graced by the crème de la crème, including old and current students and traditional rules and arrangements are in top gear to make the event hugely successful.

The theme of this year’s congress is “Looking Back, Giving Back” and this is in line with the vision of the association and demonstrated by its antecedents since its inception. The Old Student Association is a true embodiment of the spirit of Altruism.

”Climbing the ladder of success, looking and giving back to the community that helped shape our lives has always been the mantra of the Association”, Mrs. Alade-Raji said.

Other highlights of the event include award of different categories to deserving individuals for unequalled contribution to the development of the school.

Also speaking, the President of the Association, Alhaji Alade Okulu Saliu whose tenure has recorded and witnessed landmark achievements reiterated the commitment of the Association to the overall development of the institution and by extension the community.

The moderate success recorded by the association would not have been feasible without the unflinching commitment of members to a cause larger than them.

He expressed his appreciation for such rare generosity while also imploring them to continue to work assiduously to keep Epe Grammar school as a pacesetter, beacon of hope and shining example in the division.

The continued cooperation and support of the members is crucial to the survival and sustenance of the Association, as well as in the completion of projects initiated by the association.

Some of the projects in the pipeline include the construction of the school dormitory, renovation of existing dormitories and the Installation of solar pumping machines for boreholes.

In the spirit of altruism, the 1978 /83 set would be commissioning the brand new toilets built for the benefit of the students.

The guest speaker at the event is Dr Nosiru Olajide Onibon,the Provost,Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education (Mocped) while Hon Tasir Wale Raji, Member, House of Representative (Epe Federal Constituency )is expected to chair the occasion.

The Special Guest of Honour is Rt Hon.Sabit  Adeyemi Ikuforiji while  Alhaja (Engr.)Shade Agbalajobi, is the Chairperson of the day.

Epe Grammar School, established in 1954, is the first post primary school in the Division. The school has produced individuals who have excelled in their chosen professions and are contributing to the overall development of the nation.
