Salary Increase: Revd Father Faces Investigation For Brutalising Widow

A reverend father who allegedly brutalised 50 year old widow over demand for salary increase has come under investigation.
He will face sanctions if eventually found guilty.
Mrs Ikeorah Maureen, a 50-year-old widow who works as a teacher at Angel Primary School, Ifitedunu, the Dunukofia Local Government Area Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state, was allegedly brutalised by Rev. Fr. Jude Muokwe, is a Manager at the school.
The matter has reached the diocese and it had commenced a probe.
Reverend Father Charles Ndubuisi, Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Awka, who made this known in a statement issued in Awka on Tuesday, stated the incident happened on February 12, 2025.
“The suspect, Rev. Fr. Jude Muokwe, is a Manager at Angel Primary School, Ifitedunu, a mission school in the Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state.
“He allegedly brutalised Mrs Ikeorah Maureen, a 50-year-old widow who works as a teacher in the school,” Ndubuisi said.

The victim was accused of insubordination over allegedly inviting other teachers to a meeting to demand salary increase, following which she was allegedly flogged injuries inflicted on her.
“The Catholic Diocese of Awka upholds the integrity of character and respect of all and cannot condone any type of misconduct in any of our schools.
“We promise to investigate the circumstances of the incident and the extent of violation of the ethical standards established by the Diocese for all Diocesan schools and apply immediate disciplinary actions,” he said.
