No Brazil Move? Ancelotti Reveals Retirement Plans

Carlo Ancelotti has said he will considering retiring from management after his contract with Real Madrid expires in 2026.

Ancelotti was predicted to join the Selecao after his contract with Los Blancos expired in June 2024, hence he was strongly linked to the Brazil position in the summer of 2023. But in January of this year, the Italian signed a new contract with the team that would keep him at Santiago Bernabeu until 2026.

The 64-year-old made a hint that he would think about retiring once his current Los Blancos contract expires, as he was about to capture a record-tying fifth Champions League trophy in his storied managerial career with the Spanish champions.

Speaking to La Repubblica, the Real boss said: “I’m going to finish my career at Real Madrid, but first I want another Champions League. As long as Real Madrid wants me, I will be here at their disposal.”

The team led by Ancelotti enjoyed an incredible season in 2023–24, winning both the La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. They will now play Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on June 1 in an attempt to win their 15th Champions League championship.
